Our work on digital trade

About this topic

An increasing part of trade is digital and this part is also constantly changing due to, for example, the development of AI. But many rules about the digital economy still date from the last century. It is important that cross-border data flows do not infringe the protection of personal data. Moreover, trade agreements can give mega-corporations even more power by consolidating legislative gaps. That is why we are against initiatives such as permanent moratoriums and free trade agreements that limit the policy space for regulations on this subject.
